Another success pulled off by SAMSUNG with the new mid-range Samsung phones in the A and M family. Samsung Galaxy M40 is the newest and it features great specs for its price in India and will soon be available in Samsung Global store. The device has been rumored to feature a whole new screen different from other budgeted smartphones, and yes! We have it, the Infinity-O display found on Samsung S10 series and Note Series.

Barely looking at Samsung Galaxy M40, it gives you a clue about its primary function, which is being a camera-centric smartphone. Now let’s dive into other areas of the Samsung Galaxy M40.

SAMSUNG GALAXY M40 DESIGN

  • SAMSUNG GALAXY M40 CAMERA
  • SAMSUNG GALAXY M40 PERFORMANCE

The design of the Samsung Galaxy M40 is quite a bling. It not looking like the Samsung S10 series but I love it. It is designed in two colors; midnight blue and seawater blue. The device features a 7.9mm sleek body design and topping it with a premium look (dual tone back cover).

SAMSUNG GALAXY M40 DISPLAY

Samsung Galaxy M40 features an all screen display with a hole located at the topmost left corner of the device. The Infinity-O display looks great in all condition and it really an O SO WOW display according to Samsung.

The display has a near bezel-less 16.0cm which gives us an immersive 6.3-inches FHD+ display, 91.8% screen to body ratio and 2340 x 1080p display resolution which is the best a Samsung lover can get from Samsung cheap phones.

SAMSUNG GALAXY M40 CAMERA

Now back to the camera, Samsung Galaxy M40 sports a triple back camera design. The primary camera is 32MP with f/1.7 aperture which is great. We know in one of our posts what really makes a good camera and quality shots on smartphones camera. The f-number which is the aperture of the Samsung Galaxy M40 allows more light into the imaging lens allowing for nice image processing.

The secondary cameras include a 5MP with f/2.2 which is designed to deal with live focus (bokeh effect) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera lens with f/2.2 aperture which works really great covering wide areas and finally a flashlight at the bottom of the vertically placed triple camera.

The front camera is found in the left hole on the display and it a 16MP with f/2.0 aperture which is quite ok for a cheap Samsung smartphone. The front camera takes great pictures in both indoor and outdoor and has a display flashlight to be used at night.  The camera adds quite some extra face smoothening effects by default and I don’t think it can be changed.

Samsung Galaxy M40 supports a 4K video recording, super slow-motion @ 240 FPS, hyper-lapse.

SAMSUNG GALAXY M40 PERFORMANCE

The device is equipped with a huge 6GB RAM paired with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 which isn’t close to latest but it delivers quite well with the Adreno 612 GPU to deliver high graphical experience when gaming and a 128GB internal storage which is quite a bonus and it can be further expanded using a microSD card up to 512GB.

The power pack is small. It has non-removable 3,500mAh battery capacity and it so nice of Samsung to add a fast-charging technology (15W) with a well-suited Type-C USB charger.

SAMSUNG GALAXY M40 CONNECTIVITY AND OS

Samsung has ditched the traditional audio jack port on SAMSUNG GALAXY M40, it goes all in with Type-C connector. We have the Bluetooth v5.0, Dolby Atmos support, Type-C charger, and NFC. There is no physical earpiece speaker because it al screen, so Samsung adopted the screen sound technology which transforms the screen to a speaker, cool right?

samsung galaxy m40 os

The device is also rolling out with the latest Android OS (Android Pie) plus the oneUI interface which is a new one by Samsung.

SAMSUNG GALAXY M40 PRICE

All these specs might look very familiar, well yea, it because you have seen the china version known as SAMSUNG GALAXY A60 and will only be available in other parts of the world as SAMSUNG GALAXY M60, Africa to be precise.  The Samsung GALAXY M60 is priced for $288 and the A60 can found on online stores like AliExpress, Amazon, Flipkart, and others.
