Realme are first of all know to be a budget phone but lately, I have been seeing some signs that it will soon join the league of the top guys like Huawei, VIVO, OnePlus and Xiaomi, and don’t forget that Realme is mainly based in India and has sold its highest number of smartphone in the India market, meaning it dominating the area and is ready to spread It wings to another. Realme is ready to go into the African region, I just hope they would but the parent company will have to decide that.

Realme came into this world on the 4th of February in the year 2018 which is approximately 2 years and some days now and it is already making waves and turning into a big guy. BBK is the parent organization of Realme and they are also the ones behind phones like Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus.

Now, enough about the Realme history, Realme just launched the Realme X50 Pro 5G which is, to be honest, a big dude.  I said Realme is turning into a big guy, well, this is the first big guy in Realme family. The Realme X50 Pro 5G is Realme first premium smartphone with nice design color and good feel, 6 total cameras on the device, good hardware components and we have a 5G, a 5G on a Realme device? this is good!

Realme X50 Pro 5G DESIGN

Realme X50 Pro 5G design is very simple and not unique as we have some smartphones with such design in the past. The body of the Realme X50 Pro 5G is all made up of metal that doesn’t attract fingerprints which I prefer, and the phone comes in two colors; Rust Red and Moss Green which is my favorite and both colors reflect with light as you shift the phones in different angles.

There is a vertical camera bump that houses the quad-camera, a double-hole-punch at the front at the top left corner of the device, an in-display fingerprint sensor design and users a fast face recognition for unlocking the device and that is that on the design.

Realme X50 Pro 5G DISPLAY

The bezel of the Realme X50 Pro 5G is really slim alongside the chin which is also small, and I can say the chin is like that of the ones found on the Samsung bezel-less devices like the S20 line-ups. Realme X50 Pro 5G is equipped with a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio which made the screen a big one, there is a 90Hz refresh rate which makes operating the device seamlessly, everything touches counts and an HDR10+ is present for gaming most especially. This is what a premium phone would have been equipped with, so there is no doubt this is a mid-range device.

Playing games on this kind of display might not be totally cool to you has the cut-out is minus but it is not much of a mess even when you are watching a video. Just something you need to know before hopping in for the Realme X50 Pro 5G.

Realme X50 Pro 5G CAMERA

This category would really tell if the Realme X50 Pro 5G can live up to the expectation of a big guy. On the rear part is a quad camera, the main camera is a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 Quad Bayer with f/1.8 aperture lens, followed by an 8MP 119° ultrawide-angle with f/2.3 aperture lens.

The ultrawide-angle lens can also be used as a macro camera to take close up shots and there is a feature called the macro mode in the camera tabs that helps with that, the third camera is a 12MP 2x optical and 5x hybrid zoom telephoto camera with f/2.5 aperture lens and lastly, we have the 2MP monochrome depth sensor lens.

The LED flashlight is placed beside the cameras and there is an Electronic image stabilization that is cool for recording videos and not to skip it, users get up to 2160p@30fps video shooting.

 Realme X50 Pro 5G PERFORMANCE

Realme X50 Pro 5G is packed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 octa-core chipset with the support for 5G making it one of the few devices to have the chipset as of now and according to Qualcomm, the chipset which was launched last year is set to produce 25% more performance than the snapdragon 855 alongside the Adreno 650 GPU which offers up to 20% faster graphics rendering compared to its predecessor.

Inside the device is either a 6/8/12GB of RAM and internal storage of 128/256GB UFS 3.0 storage. Realme X50 Pro 5G is running on the latest Android 10 OS with the Realme UI 1.0 which is not bad at all because it is so similar to stock Android.

The battery performance is pretty good with Realme offering up to 4,200mAh with a 65W SuperDart adapter, that name is new, SuperDart, nice. Well, this is included in the box so thanks to Realme and the job is to juice up the Realme X50 Pro 5G from 0% to 100% within 35 minutes, magic right LOL, so basically leaving the device to charge for a few minutes can you a good amount of battery.

The full review will make this my conclusion of the Realme X50 Pro 5G being a premium brand true or not. Stay tuned, Peace.
